Steve Collis FCA
Managing Director / Founder | Chartered Accountant, CA Select Limited
Steve Collis is a highly experienced Chartered Accountant based in North Staffordshire. After qualifying in 1982 with Peat Marwick Mitchell (now KPMG), Steve embarked on a distinguished career spanning over four decades.
In 1984, Steve joined a local PLC, serving as Group Financial Controller and spending several years in London. During this time, he played a pivotal role in acquisitions and leveraged his tax expertise to deliver added value, including identifying capital allowances within group properties.
Following the PLC’s acquisition by Ladbrokes in 1990, Steve assisted the new owners with the disposal of non-core companies. His proactive tax planning mitigated tax liabilities on these disposals, including the strategic restructuring of sub-groups and the group’s freehold interest in the former EEC building in Brussels.
After leaving Ladbrokes in 1991, Steve held senior finance positions across service-based companies in Cheshire and Staffordshire. Notably, in 2003, he joined Butters John Bee (BJB) surveyors, where he established the Capital Allowances division in 2008. Following the business’s incorporation in 2014, Steve became Finance Director, overseeing the division’s continued growth and success.
In 2018, following BJB’s sale to a national agency, Steve founded CA Select Limited, focusing exclusively on providing specialist capital allowances services to commercial property owners. Working closely with clients, accountants, and solicitors, Steve has successfully maximised capital allowances claims across various scenarios, including existing property portfolios, acquisitions, new builds, extensions, and refurbishments.

Dafydd Evans, who joined CA Select Limited in September 2023, is based in Wrexham. With over 20 years of experience in business support and consultancy, Dafydd has a proven track record of providing tailored advice and solutions to SMEs, microbusinesses, and growth-oriented organisations. His expertise lies in helping businesses navigate challenges, seize opportunities, and achieve sustainable growth.
Throughout his career, Dafydd has worked extensively on public sector contracts, collaborating with National, Regional, and Local Government bodies. His experience encompasses delivering high-impact programmes and initiatives, coupled with the effective management and leadership of large, dynamic teams.
